ChatGPT Is Testing a New Feature for Jobs and Resumes

ChatGPT might soon help people with job-related stuff too. OpenAI is testing a new feature called Jobs, and it’s meant to help users fix their resumes, look at job options, and plan their next move.

Not everyone can see the feature yet. It’s still being tested. But it does show that ChatGPT is slowly moving into areas people already talk about a lot, like work and careers.

What the Jobs feature helps with

The Jobs feature is focused on simple, practical help. Instead of jumping between different websites, users could do a lot of career-related things in one place.

From what’s known so far, it can help with things like:

  • Cleaning up and improving resumes
  • Figuring out which jobs actually fit your skills
  • Getting tips on how to stand out when applying
  • Looking through and comparing job options

Someone might ask for help rewriting a resume for a specific role. Someone else might just want to know what kind of jobs make sense for them right now.

How it shows up in ChatGPT

The Jobs feature is expected to appear as its own section inside ChatGPT. On desktop, it may show up in the left sidebar. On mobile, it could be inside the menu.

If a user starts asking job-related questions in a regular chat, ChatGPT may suggest moving the conversation to the Jobs section. That way, all the career stuff stays in one place and doesn’t get mixed with everything else.

It follows the Health feature idea

This setup looks a lot like ChatGPT Health, which OpenAI introduced recently. Health gives people a separate space to talk about health questions and keep those chats together.

Jobs seems to follow the same thinking. A lot of people already ask ChatGPT about resumes, interviews, and career paths, so this just organizes those conversations better.

When people might get it

There’s still no clear launch date. OpenAI hasn’t said when the Jobs feature will roll out or who will see it first.

If past updates are anything to go by, it will probably show up slowly over time.

Why people care

Features like Jobs and Health make ChatGPT feel more useful in everyday life. It’s not just about answering random questions anymore. It’s starting to help with real decisions people deal with, like finding work or planning what to do next.

For now, Jobs is just a test. But it gives a pretty good hint about what ChatGPT might turn into next.
