Sam Altman Drops ChatGPT 5.2 to Challenge Google Gemini 3

OpenAI felt tense this week as the team prepared a move they knew had to land. By Thursday, that move finally showed up with ChatGPT 5.2.

Inside the company, Altman even called a “code red” to speed improvements. New modes like Instant, Thinking, and Pro aim to show real progress.
